WEEK 08 ANNOUNCEMENTS(PLEASE READ)

Hey guys! Hope you really enjoyed the substitutes this week, did you guys learn a lot, get some good tips and pointers?
You've all made it! This is the final week you guys will be working on this assignment, YOU'RE ALMOST THERE WHOO!

FINAL ROUND!FIGHT!

So here it is, the list of what you must get done this week!

  • Final character line-up with everyone's characters. Pick ONE design from each of the ones you all individually did, redraw. (Redesign if you have to)  Does not have to be on one sheet. Full color, fully rendered, clean and presentable. PLEASE DO NOT JUST COLOR IN YOUR OLD  BLACK AND WHITE DRAWINGS. Draw new poses for your characters, poses can be dynamic, but dynamic to where it also shows us every bit of their body clearly and it leaves no questions unanswered. fully rendered, it really depends on what style you've chosen, it can be painterly, cartoony, you name it, but you better go all out! Each character must have moveset, THREE per character fully colored and drawn out.

  • Final third character everyone worked on, only ONE must be chosen. Whoever is the designer/creator for that one must fully draw/render out that character, but the moveset for that character will be drawn out by their other teammates. Please talk to the creator of your chosen character to work well together. Move set drawings should look a bit similar and look like the creator's character. Fully colored, lined you know the drill. ANATOMY, please work on anatomy look up reference style is not an excuse for horrid anatomy. The internet has millions of refs out there for you! CLEAN painting/coloring nothing outside lines or gross splotches everywhere you know the basics.

  • Movesets must be clear, readable, fit the fighting style of the Street Fighter you have chosen, but show off the theme of your character. PLEASE PUT CHARACTER ICON over movesets like you would see in a video game. Add more fun things if you want to for more of a video game feel, have a blast with it!

  • TEMPLATES must be clean, presentable, very nice. Do not post drawings up with odd coloring in the background, or looks as if it was taken from an iphone picture. No paper edge lines PLEASE, this will drop your grade immensely. LOGOS should be AMPED up more, cooler for individuals to really get a feel for what  you're getting at.

  • REFERENCE SHEETS just to explain who represents what character. Have some facts and studied up info on there to show you have been studying about the topic.  Preferable to have separate sheets of your inspirations and the Street Fighter character themselves.

  • PRESENTATION is important. Always introduce yourselves, say your names. Pronounce clearly, be confident in your work otherwise your work will look poor. Please be able to explain your movesets and characters, be READY to answer questions if they are asked.

Here are some GREAT examples of character line-ups and poses done by Street fighter artist artgerm on deviantart. Showing dynamic poses are great, but be sure you give them a pose that fits their style also, and make sure the characters are easily readable and we know what their purpose/fighting style is!

The subs suggested a fun thing to where they want ICONS of your characters over their movesets. It's really easy to do that, just make a box and grab a headshot of your character and put it in the box! This will hover over your movesets and make it feel as if it was a real fighting game. There are other really rad ways to make it seem more video game like, feel free to go over and beyond to amaze us please!

GOOD examples of character icons. The last page is a character select sheet with all of the characters in the game. You don't HAVE to do that, but wouldn't it be fun to create a mock-up character select sheet? I wonder if any of you will!

I hope the presentation of our substitutes also opened everyone's eyes to GOOD PRESENTATION skills. We wanna see you AMP UP those temples, fix those fonts, and line everything up nice and neat nothing out of place! Since this is the final presentation, please make this one as neat as possible please please please it is a BIG chunk of your grade! Also, study up on what you are doing, study some Street Fighter stuff, right down notes in your reference pages about the characters you are basing off of and their move sets, the subs really enjoyed it when you studied and it also shows how professional you guys can get when given an assignment. To not be able to talk about your assignment and simply go"..........YEAH IDK I JUST DID THIS OR YEAH HERE IT IS...." How can anyone even present like that? It's embarrassing, don't ever go through with such a thing.

Due date is the same as usual Tuesday night BUT this is a lot to do, and midterms are still going on hell (BUT HEY this is also your midterm!) If you post by WEDNESDAY 12PM I'll let it slide too.
POST WITH YOUR TEAM. ANYONE THAT DOES NOT POST WITH THEIR TEAM THIS TIME WILL GET AN AUTOMATIC F. It's fine if some people post up stuff first and wait for your teammates to send things that's FINE. But if I see that presentation up there next week and a certain teammate does not have their things uploaded by then? Don't even think about presenting, consider your shit ignored. It's not only embarrassing to you, BUT TO THE WHOLE CLASS and this school. Do not give your fellow classmates a bad name, do not give this school a bad name, it's not cool guys. One person can destroy it for everyone else and believe it or not guys, people tend to remember the bad things over the good things, you guys know that, it sucks ass. You wanna be remembered for being top notch, talented badasses! Not lazy good for nothing slackers!

This project has been one hell of a ride, but you're all almost there! Can't wait to see the final products I bet they'll look very very cool! Good luck everyone, dunesandd@yahoo.com if you got more questions for crits/drawovers! See you all next week!
